Produced by vacuum extrusion and secondary graphitisation, the elongated grain gives enhanced conductivity along the billet length while keeping material cost lower than molded or isostatic grades.
Features
Extended billet length (to 2.5 m) – fewer joints in large furnaces or EDM electrodes, saving assembly labour
Directional conductivity – 30–50 % higher along the grain, improving electrical efficiency in long heaters
Good oxidation resistance – stable in air up to 650 °C, allowing hotter furnace operation
Easy impregnation – resins or antioxidants seal surface pores, doubling service life in aggressive media
